When you think about it, a lot of jobs out there are actually really tough on your skin, your hands especially. One of our amazing customers, Lucinda, pointed out in a comment on our site that her boyfriend is a mechanic and faces constant cuts and burns that leave him with cracked skin and cuticles. She – and he, we’re sure! – was happy to report Yu-Be did the trick and gave him much needed relief in the form of moisturizing. It got us thinking…what are some other popular careers that are tough on your hands and overall skin?
Nurse. Your priority is taking care of others, and the rest of us are so grateful for that. You spend long hours using your hands in a multitude of procedures, with your skin coming into contact with different chemicals, tools and materials – like those rubber gloves! Plus, all of that constant hand-washing can take its toll as well. We know you think of others’ health first and that’s why we want to think of yours.
Construction worker. Like a mechanic, you’re working with your hands all day long. You’re working with tools and rough materials. Drilling, hammering, building. These materials and actions can cause cuts, burns, splinters and dry, cracked skin.
Aesthetician. Your job revolves around using your hands and a lot of different chemicals. You’re putting the hands and skin of your clients first with manicures, pedicures, facials and more. You’re touching harsh products, washing your hands all day and putting your hands through a workout.
Musician. Another job that really puts your hands through the wringer! Your hands are running an obstacle course for hours when you play your instrument, coming into constant contact with what can be rough materials like the wood of drumsticks or the tough, callous-forming strings of a guitar.
Carpenter, Plummer, Electrician. These three different jobs are built on the common principle of carefully building and maintaining the inner workings of structures, and that can really tough on your hands. Factor in those cuts and burns from raw materials and painstaking procedures like construction workers and mechanics get. Tools can cause damage, as well as certain chemicals you come into contact with.
Tailor. Not only are your hands going through a rigorous routine all day, everyday, but all of those potential needle and pin pricks! Cuts from scissors! Callouses from rough materials! On a daily basis, you make things beautiful for your customers, but you shouldn’t have to sacrifice having beautiful hands.
The good news? There is help. These jobs are unavoidable – they are your livelihood, your passion, your roof over your head. You can’t stop working because of the damage being done to your skin, no matter how painful it may be. The answer is in moisturizing with Yu-Be Moisturizing Skin Cream. Imagine doing your job without the damage to your skin. Imagine no pain, no dryness, just healthy, smooth skin. You can’t stop doing your job but that doesn’t mean you have to stop having happy skin.
